Adobe Labs - Project: Lightroom

Lightroom is the new photo management software from Adobe Labs.

It has some very advanced features that true photo buffs will love but lacks some of the features that an average photo management user might like, or at least lacks the ease of use - because I did not see them upon inspection.

Either way you should keep your eyes on this project as it is still in its infancy (my replacement for beta).

Adobe Labs - Technologies

I used to be a little worried about Adobe because often it seemed as though they were trying to suck everyone into their way of doing things and making things inflexible and ‘their way or the highway’.  Lately I get the feeling that I was wrong.  I like being wrong when it comes to things such as this.

Checking out the Labs section of Adobe you will see some very cool, innovative ideas and technologies.  I am especially interested in the Lightroom project.  It seems to be a very powerful photo library management and editing tool.  Currently the beta is available only for Mac users but will soon be available for windows.  Check out the video on the Lightroom page to get more details on the power of the app.

Adobe is no Microsoft and Macromedia is CRAZY

First of all, Macromedia you *were* one of the good guys. Macromedia has produced some of the best/user friendly/innovative applications ever! Alas, they are now owned by Adobe. I feel clunky just thinking about using one of their product. And yes a person can feel clunky.

Message to Adobe: please do not taint the genius that is going on at Macromedia.

Message to Microsoft: Bring on your pdf destroyer (Metro) to drive out there best know business which will in my dream bring Adobe to spin off Macromedia to allow them to focus on their main business.
