Guys, in case you didn’t know already, I am a news junky. I utilize Yahoo’s My Web to save all pages that of interest that day. You can benefit from my wasted time and addiction by subscribing to my My Web xml feed here.

Does anyone know of any web apps that allow you to search another individual’s My Web? This would come in handy because of course I can search my own My Web but it would benefit you even more if you search my My Web. Anyway just food for thought.

Online Movie Download - Unbox, iTunes, CinemaNow, Movielink

Are all major newscasters retarded?  How can I be more blunt?  You are all dumb and actually degrade other’s intelligence.

Lately, there has been hype all around Amazon Ubox and Apple iTunes for their new, movie / TV download / rental service.  I am not even going to link to their websites.

This quote from Bill Car of Amazon sums up most of what is being said is most major articles that I have seen.

“This makes us the destination for film and TV lovers online,” Carr said. “No one else offers this.”

No one else?  Are F***ing crazy?  You ignorant sluts!  Considering I watched a DVD from a direct competitor (for the same or less price and just as good if not better interface) over a month ago makes me a little sick to my stomach.

Are big companies that self-involved and financially secure that they do not need to do market research anymore or is it the fact that they do not want to acknowledge these better services?  I desperately want YOU to decide!

Let me just name a couple of the ORIGINAL services:

CinemaNow
Movielink

My plea:  Please, major news sites, don’t be ignorant when reporting just because another large company has copied a great service from a small company doesn’t mean you have to help perpetuate the problem.

I was shocked then I laughed at myself

I din't know what the Onion was all about. So I found myself reading about an anti-abortion pill that kills the mother leaving the fetus alive. Wow. Ok I get it now. So I started browsing around and this site has some great [funny] articles. Did you know no matter how drunk you are alligators can still killl you?  But be warned that the age limit as posted on their website is 18 and under so you will be breaking the law by reading the site if you are over that limit.

Sink or Graduate

You decide. I say graduate. This is a cool requirement still in place by some schools that make you pass a swimming test before you can graduate. I think its neat that a MIT graduate still has to know something of the *real* world before they go out and alienate people with their genious.

See the article here

Internet Service Providers want to be dictators

This article covers many good topics:
http://www.kansan.com/stories/2006/feb/02/op_farr/

I have been hearing about the issue of ISPs trying to charge content providers an extravagant amount of money for some time now. As the article points out, they are already getting money from the sender and receiver and now they want more from the sender for priority access. Here is an off the wall idea, how about we poison the water that is going through the "pipes" around my house and give people the antidote when they pay more. I mean, why should we allow other people's water to go by my house for free? Ok that was over the top but you get the idea. I am already paying $60 dollars a freaking month for Internet. If the content/service sites weren't there to goto then I wouldn't even be using the fucking Internet. Therefore they wouldn't get any of my money.

Two tiered Internet? This is the first I have heard of this but…Damn, that's nuts. I am sure if you talked to any big wig developer or tech guru in the world who cares just a little about maintaining information flow for the good of, dare I say, humanity they would say keep Internet neutrality. As this article states as well. Where does it stop? What else do the ISPs get to decide after they have limited who get to have bandwidth because they can pay for it? Possibly the CEO of the ISP is a kiddy porn fanatic and will only allow people to serve and download kiddy porn.

What are your thoughts?
